Voice Conferencing

Can callers access the service from outside the UK?
Yes, but they have to call an international dial-in number, +44 870 050 1650. They will still be able to access the same conference rooms as UK callers dialling the 0871 271 0666 number.

What are callers from outside the UK charged for the call?
The charges are determined by the calling party's own telephone service provider and will be included on their telephone bill. Some providers charge the call at standard international rates, but some may charge a premium for the call. Callers to the international dial-in number should check what they will be charged for the call with their telephone service provider.

Can people dial in from all over the world?
Unfortunately THUS can not guarantee that all operators will allow access to the international dial-in number. In cases where callers can not access the service, they should contact their telephone service provider.

How does the 'Invite another person' feature work?
This feature allows you to invite another person while your call is in progress. You can temporarily disconnect from the conference call to dial out to a UK landline and give the conference call details to the invitee, so they can dial in to the call. If you dial a mobile number, a text message will be sent to the invitee. The text message will contain the details for the recipient to dial in to your conference call.

How does call recording work?
Any participant can activate call recording at any time during a conference call. All participants will hear an announcement advising them that the call is being recorded. If someone joins a call after call recording has been activated, they will also hear this announcement. Call recording can be stopped at any time during a call, however, only the person who activated it on that occasion can stop it. Also, if the user who activated call recording leaves the conference call, the recording will automatically stop and the remaining participants will be advised. Once the call is finished, the recording will be emailed to the conference room owner. The recording can be played back using standard media players (e.g. Real Player, QuickTime, Windows Media Player).

How does the Caller Announcement feature work?
You can switch the announcement of callers entering or leaving the conference call on or off. This is a useful feature if you have many participants joining or leaving the call at different times. The state of this feature is retained between conferences, so if you switch the announcements off, they will stay switched off for all future conference calls until you switch it back on.
