Equipment requirements

Hardware Option
All Demon HomeOffice equipment is BT SIN346* compatible, You will need to use an ADSL microfilter on every phone extension in your premises, so if you have more than two extensions, you will need to order additional microfilters. These stop high frequency ADSL being audible on the telephone service once you have fitted your ADSL equipment.

The optional SpeedTouch equipment that can be purchased along side this product is compatible with the following operating systems:
Microsoft Windows 98 / 98 SE
Windows ME
Windows 2000
Windows XP
Mac OS 8,9 and OS X
Microsoft Windows NT is not supported. If you are using Microsoft Windows NT and have an Ethernet connection available, it is recommended that you order either Demon HomeOffice (including the Speedtouch 510)

*SIN 346 (available for download from www.sinet.bt.com)

No hardware option
If you choose not to purchase your hardware from Demon you will require a BT SIN346* compatible DSL Modem or Router to connect your computer/computers to the broadband enabled phone line, appropriate connectivity software and hardware for your computer.

You will need to attach a microfilter to every telephone socket on your DSL-enabled line that you wish to plug telephony equipment to.

The actual computer system requirements vary depending on your choice of broadband modem or router. For simple broadband modems, these normally connect to the computer via a USB port, and require TCP/IP networking software, appropriate device drivers, and the ability to run a PPP link over ATM. Such device drivers are normally provided with the broadband modem; check the manufacturer's documentation for compatibility with your computer system.

For an ADSL equipped router, these normally connect to the computers via 10baseT Ethernet interface, and require the computers to be able to run TCP/IP networking software using an Ethernet interface.
