Double left click on "My Computer", and you should see an icon marked "Dial-up Networking". Double-click on this and you will get a new dialog box with an icon marked "Make new connection".

Double-click on the "Make New Connection" to launch the associated dialog box. Fill in the section marked "Type a name for the computer you are dialing" with "Demon SurfTime. Ensure that the correct modem is selected in the "Select a modem" field. This should be selected automatically if your modem is set up correctly.

Click on "Next". This will bring you to the section where you enter the phone number to connect to Demon. Enter the area code (which should be 0844) into the "Area code" box, and the rest of the Demon Premier Connect number in the "Telephone number" box.

Click on the Country Code drop-down menu and select the appropriate country e.g. United Kingdom (44). Click on the Next button followed by he Finish button. You should see a new icon appear in the dial-up networking folder called "Demon SurfTime Connection".

Click once with the right mouse button on the Demon SurfTime Connection icon and select Properties from the drop-down menu. Within this screen, click on the tab marked "Server Types" (on earlier versions this can be a button).

On this dialog you need to ensure that the "Type of Dial-Up Server" property is set to the following:

• Windows 95: "PPP, Windows 95, Windows NT, Internet"
• Windows 98: "PPP, Internet, Windows NT Server, Windows 98

7.

Underneath are a selection of tick boxes. Ensure that only TCP/IP is ticked and click OK.
