Technical Specification

It is a self-install product (that is the customer is responsible for supplying suitable customer premises equipment (CPE) to enable the service). This CPE would usually be an ADSL router and a number of suitable microfilters as defined in BT SIN 346/347 (http://www.sinet.bt.com).

We can advise on suitable routers, and can also supply suitable, approved pre-configured equipment if required.

Speed
The service operates upstream at up to 250kbps and downstream at up to 500kbps. Always-on unmetered access* and unrestricted 24 hour TCP/IP traffic. Allows you to send and receive emails 24 hours a day.

Contention
The service is contended at 5:1 (ie up to 4 other users could share the bandwidth).

Installation
Demon Premier Express Plus requires a standard analogue phone line from a suitability equipped BT exchange to which the Demon Premier Express product range has been rolled out. The service can be taken from any extension socket subject to the correct use of microfilters. Provision of the service is subject to a BT survey on line length and quality.

20MB commercial Web space.

Email
If you choose the NAT service, mail collection is via POP3 only. If you choose the Non-NAT service mail delivery is only via SMTP, to your mail server. In the event that your server is unavailable, we will hold any mail destined for you for a period of up to eight days. Any mail held by us will be forwarded onto you once your server is available again.

Domain Names
Up to three domain names are supplied with the service and include mail and Web forwarding. These domain names are subject to suitable availability.

IP address assignment
Choice of NAT or Non-NAT configuration.
