Technical Specification

Speed
The service operates upstream at up to 250kbps and downstream at up to 1Mbps. Always-on unmetered access and unrestricted 24 hour TCP/IP traffic. Allows you to send and receive emails 24 hours a day.

Contention
The service is contended at 20:1 (i.e. up to 19 other users could share the bandwidth).

Installation
ADSL requires a standard analogue phone line provided by BT. The service can be taken from any extension socket subject to the correct use of microfilters. The service is a self-install offering, allowing the customer the freedom and flexibility to source your own DSL router/modem and appropriate number of microfilters to support the installation.

Web space
20MB commercial Web space with domain name forwarding, e.g. www.yourdomain.co.uk

Email
If you choose the NAT service, mail collection is via POP3 only. If you choose the Non-NAT service mail delivery is only via SMTP, to your mail server. In the event that your server is unavailable, we will hold any mail destined for you for a period of up to eight days. Any mail held by us will be forwarded onto you once your server is available again. Email forwarding with your domain, e.g. user@yourdomain.co.uk

Electronic fax
No need for additional equipment, paper or dedicated phone line to receive incoming faxes.

IP address assignment
Choice of NAT or Non-NAT configuration. With the NAT service, you are assigned a single static IP address. With the non-NAT service, you are assigned a static IP address block.

Routers
Optionally SpeedTouch 510 ADSL router with built in 4 port Ethernet hub is available. This is supplied pre-configured with your settings and is supported by our helpdesk.

Upgrades
Users can upgrade to Demon Broadband ADSL Business 2000.
