Turnpike Six v6.06 release
We are pleased to inform customers of the release of version v6.06 of Turnpike, our Email and News client.
Turnpike is available free of charge to Demon customers for use when connected to the Internet via Demon.
Improvements and fixes contained in Turnpike Six v6.06 are:
- Turnpike Six v6.06 can verify "PGP" signed messages that have been signed with subkeys. PGP itself does not sign messages in this way but GPG (commonly used on Unix systems) may do. All Turnpike Six v6.06 users with PGP7 or later are able to authenticate messages from correspondents who sign using this method, assuming they have the correspondent's key
- For dial up users that use Turnpike to track call costs, the tariff files are updated to reflect changed BT minimum call charges, valid 1st May 2006.
- Fresh installations of Turnpike Six v6.06 include Sentry Spelling-Checker Engine from Wintertree Software Inc. When spell checking, Turnpike Six v6.06 will continue to use the International ProofReader text proofing software together with associated dictionaries if available from previous Turnpike installations, otherwise the Sentry Spelling-Checker engine is used. This change will not affect existing Turnpike users as they have an indefinite licence to use their copy of the International ProofReader text proofing software together with the associated dictionaries.
