THUS Expands Its Internet Access Family Leading UK voice, data, Internet and contact centre service provider THUS is expanding its extensive Internet access portfolio with a new ultra-high speed service. This service is targeted at larger small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs), large business enterprises and non-commercial organisations. The nationwide High-Speed Internet Access service initially provides bandwidth options of 34 Mbps and 45 Mbps over permanent, un-metered optical fibre connections. An option running at 155 Mbps is also in development. Bill Allan, THUS Chief Executive, said: "This new service leverages our advanced data network and Internet services to provide high quality, high speed connectivity and e-business services to businesses throughout the UK. This service complements our hosting, network management and international Internet connectivity to major Internet locations in the USA." THUS already offers a highly successful family of Internet access services. Existing THUS customers can access the Internet at a range of speeds from 64 kbps to 2 Mbps through Demon-branded leased line and DSL products. Demon is one of the UK's largest Internet Service Providers and the country's largest web hosting brand. The new High Speed Internet Access service leverages the quality of service advantages that derive from being carried over the UK's most modern national fibre optic network. It is also a managed service, with an inclusive router located on the customer's premises. THUS further offers a range of add-on Internet services as part of the package, including IP address allocation and Domain Name registration. |
