Thus Attracts World Class Team To Management Board THUS PLC, one of the UK's leading providers of voice, data, Internet and call centre services, today announces three senior appointments.
Alan Blunt joins as Marketing Director. Mr. Blunt has over 20 years' industry experience having held a number of marketing positions within the telecommunications sector. He commenced his career with GEC in 1981 and in 1994 joined Nortel where he worked in London and Singapore on new business and marketing initiatives for Nortel's broadband services division. In 1998, Mr Blunt was appointed Marketing and Market Development Director for Tellabas Inc, responsible for Europe, Middle East and Africa. Moving in 2000 to IndigoVision, the international supplier of video over IP embedded solutions, as Marking Director, he went on to become Marketing Director for McLaren Plc, the international supplier of content and knowledge solutions earlier this year. David Sherrick joins as Director of Risk Management. Mr Sherrick was formerly the world-wide director for Group Fraud Control & Revenue Assurance for Cable & Wireless plc and Director of Risk Management for Hong Kong Telecommunications in Hong Kong. He has significant experience in general audit, and specialised for many years in the audit of computerised systems and telecoms fraud. Mr Sherick is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and also a Fellow of the Hong Kong Society of Accountants. He was also previously a Chief Superintendent in the Royal Hong Kong Auxiliary Police Force. Ian Hood joins as Director of Corporate Communications. Mr Hood previously ran his own corporate communications consultancy, IHCC, and has worked for a variety of clients in the telecoms and technology sectors including Dell, Sit-up TV, Telewest and THUS. He worked with the company on its flotation in 1999 and more recently advised on investor relations. Mr Hood was formerly Director of Corporate Communications & Investor Relations with Telewest, the UK's largest cable company where he was employed from 1993 to 1999. He was responsible for managing the company's communications programmes with the media, analyst and investor community. Prior to this, he worked for Union Railways, managing public consultation programmes in connection with the proposed Channel Tunnel Rail Link. Commenting on the appointments, Bill Allan, Chief Executive, said: "I am delighted to announce these appointments.
